Mrs. Lear
My name is Lauren Lear. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I was honored to be a part of the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program, as it allowed me to experience new adventures within education. Being a teaching fellow gave me the opportunity to tour our beautiful state and witness various educational needs right here at home. I was able to volunteer at Camp Twitch and Shout, in Georgia, and work with kids with Tourette Syndrome. The North Carolina Teaching Fellows Program instilled a new passion for teaching much larger than the one I already possessed.
I have a seven-year-old Chihuahua named Tobias. He is completely spoiled rotten! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, watching movies, going to concerts and going to the beach.
This year will be my eighth year teaching. I am super excited to be teaching third grade this year and watching each individual student excel. I set high expectations for all of my students and will consistently hold them to those expectations. I do not allow anyone to say the words, "I can't," in my classroom. I am a firm believer that everyone can, even if it is at their own pace. Students should say "I can" or "I'll try" in place of "I can't." Teaching is my passion! I love what I do! Most importantly, I love the students! I love them as if they were my own, so I will push them to excel far beyond what they think is their limit.
I look forward to working with you and your children this year to make it their most fun, successful year yet and to prepare them for their future. If you have any questions or concerns at anytime, please feel free to contact me.
